I don't see anything worth argueing about in his post, except the fact that he actually likes the sleeves. You do know that when it does come time for a rebuild those sleeves you love so much are gonna run you a good 2 grand alone right? It isn't unit you plan on forking out a large sum of money for a stroker/bored motor where I see the sleeves as an advantage.

thanks for the kind words, Iceman . I kinda figure the sleeves will be cheaper and fairly plentiful used by the time i need a rebuild. I am very satisfied with my purchase ,I don't regret it one little bit and to me ,that's the main thing here. I'm sure someone else might feel the same way about getting an LT1 and saving a few bucks , it's all in what you want after you get accurate info and weigh out the pros and cons.

yea when the he11 will u need to rebuild a ls1? in like 5 years lol.... sleeves will be a lot cheaper by then...just like n e thing else... he11 in 5 years ls1s will be cheaper

maybe, maybe not, who knows. In 5 years the LS2 and LS7 will be out and people will be calling the LS1 an ancient piece of garbage.

There is no reason to resleave unless you are overboring or doing a stroker ket.

that was my line of thought too ,wm , i was thinking perhaps a .010 bore and rering around rebuild time but i should get at least 100k out this engine before i have to do any of that anyway. it's nice to have the option of replacing a sleeve that's scored up bad instead of trash canning a whole block. the 6 bolt mains are pretty nice ,too.

Can't you re-sleeve any type of block?

*Shrug* why would anyone want to uness you want a giant CI small block? I don't see why anyone would want to buy something just because its sleevable. Your looking at 2k-2.5k just for that.
