lt1 headers

srry if this is a repeat question, but......will aftermarket headers.......say hooker headers........fit in a third gen, with no modifications??

Engine: 95 383 CI (6.3) LT1

Transmission: 95 T-56

Any headers that fit a thirdgen 350 will fit a lt1 and clear

Will they line up with the Ypipe as well? I would think there would be some change.

My SLP headers for a thirdgen and Y-pipe line up fine.

ANY thirdgen header will work. nothing is different about the exhaust ports between the LT1 and a Gen 1 SBC

Well, I think the LT1 exhaust ports are "D" shaped, only thing different I can think of.

Any 3rdgen header will bolt onto an LT1.

Do you know if 1 5/8 primaries will be enough to cover D-ports? I'm goin' to order Hedman LT 's from ACS (68460); some say "weld/grind and it fits ok" but I wouldn't like to modify 'em because of coating.

My SLP's are 1 5/8", believe TexasLT1's are hedman 1 5/8". Mine fit up fine, some people say you may need to grind the lip a little on the headers first.
