TPI Swap to a carb motor??
I have a 87 Vert with stock carb motor with 78000 mile's on it and i have the complete TPI system from a 86 305 with all under hood wiring ad ecm, Will this work on the stock carb 305 engine??
If so what other part's will i need and will this be a fairly straight forward swap, Should any changes be made to the stock 305??
Thanks in Advance

You'll need an in-tank fuel pump or similar aftermarket in-line pump, and the high pressure fuel lines up by the engine. You'll probably need the associated electric pump relays and switches, since they often aren't included in the underhood harness & ECM.
A better cam would be a good idea while you're at it. Go for a nice aftermarket factory-type roller such as Crane or Comp compucams. Of course, better valve springs wouldn't be a bad idea if you do that.

Oh, the '87 heads and '86 base will have a different bolt angle for the center two bolts on each side of the intake. You might be able to trade someone for their '87-'89 base on the classifieds.

Did I mention throttle, cruise, and TV cables? Bet I didn't.
Upper radiator hose, heater hoses... Never mind, those are "standard" replace-when-modifying parts...

five7kid, Thanks for your help and input on this. Would a tank from 89 rs that had the 2.8 v-6 with fuel injection have the right pump and lines for this use??

I've heard both yes and no. So, to be honest, I'm not sure.
But, you could get the tank, put in a new proper TPI pump while it's on the floor, and install it. A new pump while you're at it would probably be best way to go, anyway.
