Need help making a shopping list for the boneyard
Hey folks.
This board really needs a "general" section for those questions that span more than one subject.
anyway, I've got an 87 Firebird Formula 305 and I'm currently saving up around 1 grand or so for a trip to the junkyard to start pulling some parts. I want to pick up a 350 block (bare runs 50 to 75 bucks around here) but I was wondering what other things should I go looking for? I know you can find some great deals on parts in Junkyards sometimes, but since I'm pretty new at this (I was a computer geek long before I got into wrenching) I figured I'd ask for some advice first.
I'm looking to end up with a 400 to 500 horsepower NA streetable motor that runs on pump gas (hence the choice to go 350)
Any advice?

Thanks, exactly what I needed (well, except for the headliner, mine still looks direct from factory
)
On the 9 bolt rear, what car should I be looking to pull that out of? (i.e. any Fords out there that come with limited slips and 3.5 or higher gears?
