v-6 tach with V-8 AND MSD 6AL
ok i know that when you use the v-6 tach on a v-8 motor the tach will be off... but when you install a MSD 6AL box you have to plug the tach into the box its self not into the HEI unit... so will this make the V-6 tach give me the right reading?
PS this was done to a 91 Firebird... stock was a 3.1L MPFI with a 120mph spedo i swaped in a carbed 350 non computer controled

No. It will read wrong.
The 6-cyl distributor gives 3 pulses per crank rev, and that's what the tach is calibrated for. The V8 dist gives 4 pulses per rev. So no matter what box you have or where you hook it or whatever, a 6-cyl tach will still read 33% higher than reality when hooked to a V8.
