All 87-up truck v8 engine blocks have PROVISIONS for a factory roller cam. I got a 87 truck 350 4 bolt main that is a roller block, did not have a roller cam and lifters in it, but had the provisions for all the factory stuff.
Comp Cams sells a kit with all the parts to put a roller cam into the roller block. I bought one of these kits.
Just found it on
Summit Racing .
Summit part number CCA-08-1000.
I might want to sell my block and look for a LS1.

87-up Caprice has roller. Just make sure it is a 350, as they too came with 305's
I am pretty sure 95-up trucks all were converted to roller by then.

as a side benifit, if you getr a long block o\r complete motor, you can sell the heads to offset the cost of the motor(I just did, paid $260 for a 36K mile motor from a wrecked van and sold the heads for $250)

What year is your block again? If it is 87-up, then it should already have the provisions for roller. Just have to tap the 3 bosses in the lifter valley. Get the lifters, keepers and the hold down from salvage, and you should be good to go. The retrofit kits that they sell are usually for pre-87 blocks.
