305 to 383 swap
my 88 vert has a 305 tpi and now i want more power. i' am looking for a roller block 350 witch one to use, four bolt main would be nice , what should i look for. this motor is going to get stroked to 383 . for the heads i can get a set of edelbrock performers from a friend, would these heads be a good choice i would like to get 400+ horse out of the motor with a superram and smog legal.

I did the same thing with my Z28. I used a 350 2 bolt block to build my forged 383. I used all ARP studs for it though. Most of the 4 bolt main talk is over hyped. If your not gonna be spinning this motor to 7000 all the time then there is no need to get a4 bolt. Just make sure you use ARP studs or bolts. If your mind is set on the 4 bolt then try looking in the boneyards for 350's out of the 90 trucks. I think these where 4 bolt roller motors......I think
