Ok, i have just baught an 86 iroc z with the 305 tpi. It has a horrible intake leak do to me and my friends trying to change the egr valve. (totaly sucked) But i wanted a 350 anyway so i dont care to fix it. I found a lt1 from an 1994 impala for $400 dollars. "Complete" I hear the heads are not the same as the camaro lt1 but that doesnt matter because i want to change the heads anyway. How hard is the conversion and what are some good tips. P.S. If anyone wats the engine and tranny let me know, i am selling it real cheap. Tranny works great, and the engine works fine, just needs to intake gaskets.

 

Check out the sticky's at the top of this page and search a bunch. All of your answers are out there already provided for you by others that have done this swap. Why would you just not spend 5 minutes to fix the EGR leak now instead of swaping the motor as a means of fixing it?

Be careful that the LT1 youre looking at isnt one of the "baby" LT1's. It would suck to get screwed like that.

The 4.3 version of it. It looks identical on the outside but is no where near the performer of its big brother. It was found in B-body cars. These motors have a habit of suddenly becoming 350's when they are sold.

 

Such is the case for every 350 TPI, It's a CORVETTE 350
