305 TBI to 350 TPI Swap - need help
Hey everyone, I'm new to the board and I'm sure this question has been asked plenty of times before but I've searched this board quite a bit and have come up empty handed. I have purchased a 1988 Firebird GTA 350 TPI motor and I am going to be swapping it into my 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI motor. I am also trying to get a T56 to get in there. But my biggest concern would be electrical and getting the computer in. Any suggestions or reference sites would be most helpful as I need all the help I can get. Also I'm going to help the guy take the engine out of the car so I will be able to get EVERYTHING i need. I want to pretty much take everything from the engine compartment and into the dash to be sure I have everything but is there anything I should keep an eye out for so I can be sure to pick it up? any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

Welcome aboard.
Take pictures of both cars before you start taking things out, and while removing. Label everything that is disconnected from anything, from both cars. If it starts at the engine, trace it to where it ends and remove it from the donor car (you can probably not worry about battery cables, but otherwise, you get the idea). You'll need the in-tank electric fuel pump, easiest probably to just take the whole fuel tank. Take the entire engine harness out as one piece, don't cut anything. You can leave engine compartment mounted sensors attached to the harness when you remove it (unbolt the sensors from the car rather than disconnecting from the harness).
I see one potential issue: "California". You're putting an earlier engine to a later chassis - not allowed by smog rules. But, if you get '91 TPI under-hood stickers, they may not notice (I don't know how much different the MAF and SD TPI stickers are).

Yeah i already checked and it won't pass smog but thats a good idea on the stickers. Thanks. I'll be sure to take your advice and thanks for the help. Do you know of any helpful websites that could assist in providing additional information on this swap?
