360, questioning engine setup

i just had this guy i just met build and install a motor for me, now i'm not a motor head i just wanted more power. the guy builds stock car motors... and this is what he did for me,,

350 bored out to a 360,
got rid of all the vacume advance
i was told he used fuel injection heads, but the heads are 205/160
a lunaty cam, not sure on specs though
holley 600 carb,

the guys a freak and dissapeared
but since then we put the vacume advance back on, the carb was a mess so we gotta get it cleaned up, my question is it seems like he set it up for a race car, will i be able to get it to idle right and be street driven withouth changin the cam or heads,,

Almost impossible to say without knowing what cam & heads are actually on it. You can get the casting numbers off the heads (remove the valve covers to get to them), the cam is a lot harder to say.

vacume advance isnt needed on a stock car ... dist timing is usually advanced quite a bit so after you get the carb strightened out retard the timing a bit or just reset it to stock specs as a starting point then just play with it from there ... you didnt say what class stock car motors he built ... if it was nascar then sell it ... if it was local hobby stock you should be able to get it running for the street easy enough ... probly wont make a good 1/4 mile eng though ... let us know what you do or find ... tao

the heads have center bolts so there fuelinjection heads right... thats what a friend of mine said but there 205 intake 160 exhuast... if i remember right... thats like the only thing i remember him saying... but isn't the exhuast a little small compared to the intake ?

ya he makes the motor for hobby stock... i think its hobby stock.. whatever class is under the modifieds

the vacume advance is back on the car... the cars just timed by ear right now till my friend gets his timing light back...

ya i'm not sure if i'll ever be able to find out all the specs on the motor because i just found out this guy just went to jail... just my luck the guy i trusted my car with is a criminal so...

so i have 2 problems here....
one the starter isn't engaging so im going to get a new starter but...

when i turn the key there is nothin so somewhere inbetween the key and the starter something happened i don't know what it could possibly be i don't even know where to look if anyone has any thoughts on this it would be great.... thx alot

im not too sure on the valve size ... but it is normal for the intake to be larger than the exaust ... you might want to check the connections at the starter to make sure they are good ... double check battery voltage and load test if possible ... a lot of places will test the starter for free but you will have to pull it and take it in ... if all these are good the ign switch is the next thing to test ... let us know what you find and if needed ill post ign test procedure for you ... good luck and stay cool ... tao
