Disributor from one to another
I am swapping a 305 for 305, but I need to know how I can move the Distributor from one to the other and keep it in the right orintation so that the timming is right. Would I just bring both to DTC on cyc (1). And how can you tell that your on cyl (1)?

Pull the distributor out of the old engine and don't worry about what position it's in, it won't mean anything on the new engine anyway. Turn the new engine to #1 TDC and try to put the distributor in. If you can't get it to seat fully, turn the oil pump drive with a large screwdriver until you can. You can try to get the rotor pointing to a particular terminal if you want, or you can just use whatever terminal it ends up pointing to as #1 and go from there.
