Converting engines

Hey, one quick question, would it be possible to take out my old 305 TBI and swap it with a more stout 454 TBI? If so, what exactly would it take? Thanks.

On the tbi side youll need to get an ecm/pcm meant for use with a 454 or you could tune your present 8746 to work with the larger motor. Youll also nee to get a larger 454 tbi + injectors, 454 intake, and maybe a new fuel pump if high pressure is required. As for getting the big block in there, well... your on your own. Itll bolt up but the clearences are tight and itll be a pain to get it all together. The stock 454 is a bit of a pig and will probably do little more then weigh down the front of the car and make it handle like puke.

Mod your 305 or get a 350, itll be alot easier.

Yeah, you're probably right, I guess it would just be a cool novelty, thats all. Mabey something like a 383 would be better. But damn, that 454 would sure be unique.
