'79 olds 350 into Fbody/s-10
I know i don't have an F-body, but i know how interchangable the parts are between the F-body and the pre-93 s-10/sonoma's. I have already put into my sonoma a tbi mid-80's 350, '99 camaro posi/ring&gear, 700r4 from an f-body, '92, steering box from '92 (i think) iroc.
My question is, I have a stout '79 350 CI oldsmobile motor from a delta 88 that we rebuilt a couple of years ago, hooked up to the matching 350 tranny (also recently rebuilt). What are the modifications (if any) that i'll have to make regarding parts. will I need to move the transmission crossmember? engine mountings? recommendations on headers (i already have 2 1/4" dual exhaust), driveshaft (or a recommendation on a tail shaft). any other ideas or recommendations would be great too, this is going to be on a shoestring budget, to prove a few nay-sayers who said this would be a 2 thousand dollar job wrong though.
Thanks again for any ideas or info i can get.

extremely off topic, expect this one to get closed.
Trans crossmember depends on trans length I guess, is it a short or long shaft 350? You will have to work with the engine mounts, and some of the wiring and stuff will be backwards. IF you want the trans to be easy, check this out:

That will eliminate you driveshaft, mount, and crossmember issue. Your biggest problems would lie in the motor mounts. Probably not that hard to fab up.

yeah, but the s-10 forums are pretty useless at times when it comes to obscure knowledge. I suppose if it gets ****-canned, i'll just make it again just saying it's a F-body i'm putting it into.
thank you for your input though, i appreciate the point in the right direction.

If you say "It's going into a 3rd gen f-body", you're going to get a lot of useless information.
You've already gotten as much useful information as you can expect. And, board rules being board rules...
