EGR Feed LT1

So, I hate to bring up the ever annoying topic of emmissions, but, how did you guys hook up the EGR feed pipe? I can't believe you're all using LT1 exhaust manifolds! I have the full SLP system, and a magnaflow "high flow" cat. I have to at least make all the emissions equipment *look* functional So where did you all run yours too?

EDIT: Forgot also, where does the *^&$# AIR line from the cat hook in to the system, and why is the check valve on it blowing out not in?

I have no working emissions equipment, but it is still mounted The factory EGR routing came from the back of the intake manifold and wend down to the collector area of the passenger side manifold.

The AIR line on the cat should hook into the AIR pump mounted on the driver's side. The reason for the check valve is so that air only flows IN to the cat.

Well here's what I got:

Slp 1 3/4 primary headers for thirdgen l98 type engine....no egr feed

No place to hook up the air line anywhere, only the headers have a place to hook into. shoebox on camaroz28.com seemed to imply that there was no air line to the cat....not really sure there, I still need to go look for replies there about that....

So thats where it stands now, I am guessing I will need to drill a hole in the y pipe as close to the header collector as possible and see if I can't make some sort of mount for the egr feed pipe...

I have the same set up, not running yet, if you are going to have a functioning EGR I think you are right that you will have to tap into the exhaust somewhere, I was thinking the Y pipe on the passener side although I'm not sure if the factory EGR tube will be long enough. I read some guys were haveing oil leaks form the intake manifold where the EGR pipe comes in caused from the heat drying out the sealer.
I just put a blanking plate over the EGR for now until I see if I pass smog once the car is running. I am hopeing the valve overlap form the new cam will be enough like with the LT4's.

The LT1 cats don't have air injection tubes like those on 3rd gens as they downsized and moved the cats closer to the engine and moved the air inlet closer to the cats on the exhaust manifolds eliminating the need to have direct air injection. So the electric air pumps only pump air into the exhaust manifolds on LT1 engines where 3rd gne set ups need air to the headers and cat.

I have the air tubes on my headers and need the air tube for the cat, I am seriously thinking of adding another relay and running two electic smog pumps, one for the cat and one for the header tubes. If you headers don't have the air tubes just run one line to the cat form the smog pump.
