Anyone know why exhaust bolt patterns are not the same?
Also oil pressure safety switch not in same location!
Pontiac people seem to believe there is only the three pin oil sending unit/switch system when I noticed the threaded hole bellow the distributor hole at the back of the block. Funny also is that the Chevy truck's 700R4 bell housing covers that hole!!!!
With a small die grinder (Dremel clone) and two inch abrassive disc I was able to cut away the bell housing lip(also with distributor removed) with the engine in the truck. I hope this was not a mounting hole (I have yet to crank the motor to see if oil shoots out!!!) I used the truck's original oil sending unit that clears the Chevy headers. I had to modify the original cast iron smog pump/A.I. R. headers to fit the Pontiac exhaust bolt pattern.
Anyone else as foolish as myself and has done similar?
Thanks!
