350 or 383 advice & suggustions
350 or 383 advice & suggustions
I have an 87 Iroc with tune port 305 and the engine has a spun bearing. I have found a 89 350 block to either build a 350 or a 383. I have done a lot of reading and still can't decide wich way to go. I want to keep the stock tpi and upgrade the injectors, chip, and add a afpr and some headers. Port the plenum and maybe the stock base and go with some dart iron eagle heads 190cc intake and 202 valves and a mild cam. Or go with some vortec heads and a spdc intake. My buddy has a 383 rotating assembly he will give me if I want it. But I have read that the stock tpi will chock out the 383. This car is driven maybe once or twice a week. I want something to play with on the street, red light to red light. Nothing to run at the track. I would rather have the 383, it should have a lot of torque and be fun to drive. But I may be better off building a 350. Any suggustions or opinions.
