350 using 305 stock exhaust..?
I tried searching around but was unable to find my specific question elsewhere... If someone has the already asked this please throw a URL at me...
Anyways...
So I am doing it, took the 84 TA 305 out and slapped a small chevy 350 in there, so far we have replaced just about everything, block, starter, carburator, air, distributor, tranny and so many other things i cant even think about right now...
I am a 19 year old single dad on a tight college student budget and can't afford to do headers and exhaust right now, can I use the stock system all the way from the block to the back in the mean time (a month?) while i get the cash together for headers and exhaust? I know it would not run the same as a nice set of headers would, BUT would it WORK?
Thanks for all of your help!

The exhaust setup I was looking at would run me around 500 bucks and after spending a few grands on it already I am on a tight budget lol, bought almost all the parts in less than 2 months while attending UNLV and working "part-time" so you know what I mean... anyways, I am gonna use this for now until I can get into a nice set of headers and exhaust...
Thanks again and please let me know if anyone has more ideas on this... Member

I was told you had to alongate the back manifold bolt holes by the local exhaust shop. idon't understand this, I thought sbc was sbc. but they have done alot more exhaust work then me.

Depends upon the heads on the 350. If it has 7 exhaust manifold bolt holes, the stock manifolds will bolt up.
How well the exhuast works depends upon the 305 that was in the car. VIN code H, very poorly. VIN code G, very well.

I am gonna have to look into that then... I found some CHEAP headers that I can use in the mean time and I have some flowmasters laying around, so I might just do that in the mean time for a couple hundred rather than using stock, we will see what happens
