Where did you get your 350?
How many people got their 350 block from a junkyard?is it a really good idea to do or maybe its just easier get a new one from GM?
I need 350 and i see alot of people saying to get it from junkyard since its cheapest way..but what are the chances to find decent block? Someone said its about 100-200$ for block itself and about the same to rebuild it?! Is it really that cheap to do it and have a good 350 in your car?
Since iam in high school i dont have much money but i can save up 1K ,is it enough to put a new engine in my car (including labor cost) Because my dad said labor is so expansive and its not that cheap, and auto tech teachers said it would cost about 5 grand....iam confused
So i wanna hear some stories how you got 350 in your car,so i can compare it and take it as a start point

unless you do it yourself i would imagine the labor alone being over 1k.

I would personally get one from a Junkyard, disassemble it, and have it cleaned, and possibly bored .030 over if needed. BUT getting one done and ready to go is a great way to go, especially if you dont have the time to mess with it.
When I did my 305
I had about $700 into it after I got everything that I needed and had it cleaned etc... BUT I did most of the work... And that was with a Block that came in my car...
I dont know about your area, but I know the Junkyards around my area, if you buy an engine, and its cracked, most of the time they will exchange it... I would not say after 3 months or something, but during your rebuild they are usually pretty honest... There are some out there that are not so honest, but I tend to avoid them unless I have no other choice.

My brother got this engine http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/...46&p_catid=111 for his '93 1500. He called them up to order it, specified 083 heads, it was delivered to his driveway for right around $1700 (he didn't send back a core - the freight would have eaten up the core refund). He's been smiling since September 12th.
