Buying a crank from ebay, help.

ok I have a 350 chevy in the garage. The guy I got it from said it was a roller motor. its a two bolt with these casting #'s 14093638. Im looking at a 383 crank on ebay, but im not sur if it is right. Roller motoers came out in 1987 right? I know this engine uses a one peice rear main seal, but the ebay advertisement stats that the crank "is for a one peice rear main seal 1989-98 roller motors." Mine is a roller but not a 89-98. Whats up with that?? can I use the crank? is the advertisment wrong? What is the difference between the gen I, II, and III 350's and what gen is mine? I dont want to blow 300$ please advise.

Yes you can use the crank, you have a gen I roller, Gen II is lt1(you can still genII bottom end parts i believe) get III is the ls1. The ad must be wrong.

So ? Its not 3rd gen specific.

Ive got a 1998 3/4 ton chevy truck long block. Gen 1 sbc.

Only f-bodies and vettes got the LS1 those years, trucks still got

usual SBC parts.

10243880...350...95-00...2 or 4...Vortec truck, Gen.I crate motors and "ZZ4", roller cam, one piece rear seal

The actual "roller" part has nothing to do with the crankshaft. All you need to know is whether it is a 1 or 2 pc rear main seal (along with the obvious things like mains and stroke).

Yes, any 1 pc rear seal crank will interchange, meaning, the LTx cranks can be stuffed into a Gen. I block, seal depending.
