Does anyone here know the length of the valves used in the LS1/LS6 heads?

I just bought a set of Ti valves on eBay for probably close to their scrap value. I didn't expect to win, but I have the valves now, and I thought I might as well try them out. I'll have to have the stems cut down and put in some keeper grooves .

exh = 4.923 approx
int = 4.874 approx

 

So they're the same length as SBC1 valves...
I wasn't expecting that, because in my search I didn't see any numbers that cross referenced.

 

Gen 1 SBC stem dia = .3415" (11/32")

LS1 stem dia = .3136" (8.00 mm)

Somebody on here build some 305 heads with LS1 1.7 RR's and LS1 valves. All they did IIRC was press in new LS1 valve guides.

search for LS1 rockers.

 

You sure they used LS1 valves? I remember the LS1 rockers, but not the part about LS1 valves...

That was quite awhile ago though, so I don't really remember the thread all that well.
