LB9 to L98: Components needed?

LB9 to L98: Components needed?
Its my intention to swap my 305 tpi with a 350 tpi, but which parts do I need to get new, and which ones can I retain from my 305?
Of biggest concern is whether I can keep my intake, plenum and runners, fuel rails, and injectors, or are all those going to be obsolete?

You can keep all of it, although an adjustable fuel pressure regulator would be required for full power. 305's had 19lb injectors, while 350's had 22lb, so it would probably be best to get 22lb injectors.
They also have different knock sensors.
Otherwise, everything will fit as long as the block is '86-up type 1-piece rear main seal and the heads are '87-up SBC bolt pattern (but not Vortec).

what about the valve covers and the oil pan? Although I'm sure I could get a pair of valve covers from salvage, I'm not particularly interested in ripping apart a salvaged car for the oil pan if i can retrieve the one I already have.

I am going to do the same swap, but someone told me that I also had to change the prom in the computer to adjust for the 350, versus the 305. Is this true? I have an 87 T/A and was wondering if the prom has to be changed, and is there a stock chip that is more performance oriented. for instance in 87 the 350 is rated at 225 h.p. for a camaro, 230 h.p. in 88, and 240 h.p. in 89 for 277 gears and 250 h.p. for 327 gears. I don't think anything mechanically changed did it? The only thing I can figure is that they did something with the proms.

Oil pans are different between one- and two-piece rear main seal blocks, and passenger-side and driver's-side dipstick. So, whether you can use what you've got depends upon the style of 350 block you're using.
As for the '87 question, it's an MAF system, which isn't as sensitive to displacement changes as the '90-up SD system is. However, the PROM for an '87 L98 would probably do you better.
