LQ9 Swap
Hey guys,
To start off this is my first time here and this site looks great and its loaded with info. Here is my dilemma though...any help is appreaciated. I have a '89 Camaro with a stock 305 TBI engine. I am thinking of buying a LQ9 engine taken out of a '02 Escalade. Its a really good deal and the engine is mint 22k on it. I also plan (fingers crossed) to boost enough power in the engine to give roughly 500 RWHP. Now I know thats a lot of work but the engine comes stock 340 Hp and 380 Trq. My question is this....do you guys think its a wise idea or not? Also I'm still not 100% that a T56 will fit the engine...I heard it was done before but never actally seen it. The engine can easily handle 500 horses but I'm talking mainly installation problems. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
