Are the Impala LT1's dumbed down at all or are they on par with the F-body one's?

They are a little slower thanks to the iron cylinder heads, but I don't think its by much. Considering that it comes with the transmission, engine harness and accesories, it looks like a pretty good price.

No. The cams were smaller but don't let that deter you from buying one. The iron heads actually flow more than the aluminum ones but people would rather have the weight savings of the f-body and vette heads.

The Impala Lt1 was (originally) setup for the police use. The iron heads were better for long idle times and the cam was mainly for better torque for the heavier car along with thinner head gaskets for a slight bump in compression. Pretty good power train all around, and good price I think. The unknown mileage is a big question mark though.
