i was given this 83 firebird and it had a blown 2.8 carb in it befor i got it the motor was allready removed. i have made the motor mounts and all the hard work is done untill i saw the wireing. need diagrams for the car. i am a mechanic and know what i am doing.

 

Chiltons 82-92 Firebird manual. I have an 84 my and did the v-6 to v-8 conversion. Still have some extra wiring in the engine compartment not used.

 

i got the chiltons manual but it onely gave me the tbi diagrams i cant find any carb manuals. i put in a chev 350, hei dis. head man headers, and a beefed up 700r4 i am acuually looking for the conector that the harness for the 700r4 plugs into it is a red conector.

 

Seconded. I also used they Haynes maual. If you go to your GM dealer, they might let you xerox thier diagrams. And if you think that the physical swap is harder than the wiring, you've got another thing coming.

 

the swap for me was easy i used a set of chevelle mounts and moved the holes 1/2" forward. drilled new holes. this gave me enough space to use the stock cross member for the 700r4 with out haveing to relocate it. this way the drive shaft didn't have to be shortened. the motor went in to the car with trans in about 6 hours in a driveway and just hand tools no air tools. now i just have to wire it up. if any one has the wireing diagrams for this car it would be great if i can get them off u. good luck to all of u out there.
