350 T/a

I am putting a computer carbed 350 with Vortec heads into an 85 T/A that has an L-69. Do I use the same harmonic ballancer that came with the 305 with the new 350 short block? Also what 4 barrel intake manifold for vortec heads will fit under the stock T/A hood?

If you are using the same belt system as the HO engine did, then you should use the 305 balancer.

Without a doubt, the Performer will. Not sure about the others.

If you are using the same belt system as the HO engine did, then you should use the 305 balancer.
So if you go with an aftermarket balancer for the 305-350 swap, you can't use the stock belt system?

AFAIK, you can, but the HO's belt system is designed to use a thinner-that-usual balancer, so the stock crank pulley is 'modified' to work with that balacer.

Basically, if you go with an aftermarket balancer, you can either get a thin one, like the HO used, or get a normal one and a crank pulley to match.

I *think* this is how it works, but I might not be 100% correct. I'd wait for someone else to agree/disagree with me before you use what I said.

Do you happen to know what size the stock one is? I may just end up getting one from napa for my swap.
