Can I Put the Engine With These Things Already Attched?

Got all the prep work done. My Camaro's ready for its second 350. I dont want this one taking 3 weeks to get done. Is it possible to put the engine and tranny in with the passenger side header and the shifter attached? Those two things took up a good amount of time last time. The last header bolt could only be gotten from under the car, and very short turns with a wrench. I took apart the center console to unbolt the shifter this time. It was alot easier than getting it from underneath the car. Is it possible to put the engine with attached tranny in with the shifter bolted down to the tranny? The headers are Flowtechs, so they arnt very big. The only people who can realy answer this are the ones who have tried to do these before. If its possible it should take a good half hour off. Any other tips anyone may know would be helpful.

I installed my engine with the passenger side headers and auto tranny. I would probably install the shifter on once the unit is in place. Just make sure you have the load leveler tool on the cherry picker. Use 2 chains in the front and 2 on the rear of the block. Depending on the year you have you may want to go ahead and install the oil pressure sendin g unit. Mine is locate right above the oil filter vice on the top of the block. I kind of hard to toghten with headers in the way. Check your heads and remove any plugs you may need to install your sensors.

Since I have an auto tranny, guess I'll pass.

I left my shifter off when I put the engine and tranny in mine because there's not a whole lot of room to get a jack under the tranny and not hit the transmission tunnel top. I also left the headers off as well, which made it a whole lot easier to get the motor in. If you will have the car off the ground to bolt the tranny up, go ahead and put the last header bolt in while it's in the air, that will save some time there.
