Suggestions, Motor Swap
ZZ4, LT1, LS1, 383? Lots of choices, with a wide price difference. What could be the most economical motor to switch out? What would be the easiest, less headaches? Would be looking for a motor that would match up with the current set up of tranny and rear, with out doing a major overhaul, also this car would be just a cruising car, not looking to do a 11 sec. 1/4.
What would a 305 TPI motor be, fair market value with 56k on it?
This would be for a 89 Z28, vert.
Any comments would be mucho appreciated.

Least expensive (assuming you do the work) would probably be a JY LT1.
Fewest headaches would be ZZ4. You could put a carb on it (comes with a carb intake and distributor), or put your TPI on it with some mods.
Most headaches, and possible most money, would be LS1. For a cruiser, might not be worth considering.
383 is probably somewhere in the middle, both money- and headache-wise, depending upon what you put in/on it.
Fair market value of a 305 is not having to pay to dispose of it.
Should be able to get a few hundred out of a complete TPI system.
