VATS bypass module
I found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true . Seems like a good alternative to having a pcm reprogrammed.

Why not just get the equipment to program the computer yourself? If your going through the trouble to swap in an LT1 or LS1, surely you will get the bug sooner or later to do some "tweaking" to the VE or spark, especially if you do heads/cam. I bought HP Tuners for my LS1 well before I ever installed the engine. I knew I was going to tune it, so modifying the VATS, turning off rear HO2S codes and disabling CAGS was an added bonus.

A bcm w/proper vats bypass resistors could work, the item in the like worked for me before I deployed and now have some electrical gremlimsto track down, or pay $500 for hp tuners to it, becasue teh beta v6 f-dofy program doesn't have it yet.

Instead of trying to retrofit a BCM, I just used the stock thirdgen VATS module. I don't know about LT1 PCMs and there tuners, but w/ my LS1, I can choose between Serial theft signal, PWM theft signal, or just turn it off.
I think if your in a time crunch or financial bind, those modules would be the way to go, just don't think they are the only way.
I also noticed they have Tachometer modules at half of what I paid from Dakota Digital. If they are just as good as the SGI-8, then thats a good buy as well.
