3.1 to 4.3 vortec?

Hey everybody my '91 3.1L has 210,000 miles on it and ive been lookin to relpace it. Ive come into a '98 4.3L Vortec engine with about 500 miles on it. Ive never swapped an engine before although im goin to an automotive college. At this point i know just enough about it to get me confused especially with the electrical aspect. i know that the 98 is OBD II and the 91 is only OBD I etc. so if anyone has any tips or opinions please send 'em.

Try a search. This comes up all the time. The 3.1 to 3.4 swap would be a lot easier and there is a tech article on how to do it.

pretty much swap the engine w/harness. you already have a gauge cluster that doesn't need to be modded. Get matching tranny (v8) and afpr w/return.

You basically want to do the v6-v8 swap, but not sure if there is a kit for the motor mounts.

96+ 4.3s had the tbi, and there is a vortec kit out there if you so choose

For the tech articles, go to the home page. Look on the left side. Scroll down and you will find tech articles. They are organized by topic. If you still have a problem, post a message and we can try something different.
