Short tail shaft or long

Putting an Chevy 400 small block (carbed) , into a 86 Camaro. (Was V6) Want to put an 700r4 behind it. Need to know do I need short tail shaft or long. Also what kind radiator works best.
Having mechanic do it.
Any help or advice welcome

AFAIK, all 700R4's have the same length tailshafts, except on Corvettes. You'll need to use the tailshaft housing from a thirdgen to use the stock torque arm setup.
