Hey everyone. I was curious about something. My 87 Camaro has the stock 305 4 barrel in it. I am considering purchasing a new complete 350 from summit - costing around $3000.00. I know that if I buy the 350 then it wont only be the engine that will need to be replaced....will I not have to also change my exhaust set up? Aside from that, what else would I have to change and what kind of extra dough (besides the three grand) am I looking to spend, given I keep everything at minimums? I ask this because I would only have maybe an extra 1500 to spend after purchasing the motor. Thanks for any info!

What exhaust do you have now? Anything that bolts onto the 305 will bolt onto the 350, the blocks are the same externally. The only possible exception would be your flywheel, if the new engine doesn't have a one piece rear main seal.

Excuse any of my termanology, like i've said - im new to this and not nearly a car expert. I have a flowmaster muffler, single inlet I believe its called... basically, it's not true dual, its pretty must stock from the muffler foward.

It would all fit, but the stock exhaust chokes a 305 so you can be certain it will choke a 350. Nothing that couldn't be upgraded later though.
