Same 305 tbi to 350 swap ?'s
This might sound funny but i just rememberd that my dad has had a brand new 350 4bolt main long block thats bored 40 over still in the crate that has been siting for about 6 years. He just never got around to using it.
so heres my question, could i swap out my 305 tbi and swap in the 350 with tbi? heres the problem's 1 its a >87 and older block 2 it might be stuck form sitting for a long time. 3 and i know i will need to make a custom prom chip but will i be able to put a tbi on it?
And oh another same old question, I noticed that hooker has the super comp headers and y-pipe kit for camaros but i dont think i saw that it supported my year of car. and what other very good heders and y-pipe can i put on my car?

The TBI forum has more specifics about this swap, but here are some basics:
'85-older block isn't a big issue. If it has a two-piece rear main seal crank, just get a 153-tooth flex plate (like '83-'85 3rd gen V8 automatic application replacement). Everything else will swap over from the 305. If the block is '79-older, it will have a driver's side dipstick, but headers solves the interferance problem there.
If the heads are '86-older, then the center two intake manifold mount bolts will be at 90 degrees, just like the rest. Your TBI manifold has 72 degree angle bolts for those center two; you can either elongate the bolt holes in the intake manifold, or a better choice would be to get a carb-type manifold (details on what one on the TBI forum) and put a TBI adapter on top of it.
As for headers, go for the Super Comp 2055's. Use a cat for '86-'90 TPI single cat application (which is what the headers are), and similar cat-back. It will fit the engine and chassis just fine. The only reason they don't list them for your year is the factory didn't use a 3" single cat in '91 and '92, but that doesn't mean you can't make that system work. Works just fine for me, and I've got bigger differences than you do!
For the sake of completeness, it would be a good idea to know what heads and cam are on/in that engine. The heads may not be that great, and the cam may not be particularly computer friendly.

Five nailed it on the head. You will want to make sue you know what the specs are on the cam. Certian cams are not friendly when it comes to tuning. You will need the following 350 TBI parts to do this swap.
350 knock sensor
350 ESC module
350 injectors
You will also need to buy the equiptment to burn your own chips. Mail order chips won't cut it and without chip work your car will be a fuel guzzling, stumbling mess. There are plenty of threads out there that already cover this swap into great detail. Take some time to do some searches and read some of these old threads.
