Car wont start
Hey all,
I just did a swap from a 305 TPI to a 350 TPI, also things i added were slp runners, holley afpr, edelbrock tes headers, and a edelbrock bbk 52mm tb and 24lb fuel injecters. yes i got a new chip, new knock sensor. Thing is, I got everything connected, and i get ready to set the fuel pressure, and the interior is getting power, but when i turn the ignition in the on position, i get no fuel pressure at all. before i took the 305 out i had put a new eletric fuel pump in the car. Also for curiousty reason i try to start the car, just to see if i am getting anything at all, and nope, doesnt even try to turn over. I'm thinking maybe my battery is crap and not puttin out enough power, cause I had it charging all day and it is still not full, but it doesnt take that much to engage the fuel pump does it? any thoughts ?

If you have a charger running on the battery when you do all this you should have enough voltage to run the fuel pump for sure. If its not running now its probably just a wire you missed. As for the engine not turning over, do you have all your ground connected?

same problem:
long story short:
i built a new motor.
The oil pressure was low due to galley plugs missing. i fixed it and it now has great pressure. I only ran the motor for the cam breakin and a short drive without the galley plugs. After I fixed it....I took the car for a ride. It got about a mile from the house..and died. When i turn the key on, the fuel pump doewsn't prime or come on. I am worried I spun a bearing and have no oil pressure now, even though I fixex that galley plug problem and that's why my pump won't come on. Could this be accurate, or ois it just the fuel system (i hope)?

I had a problem where the engine would not turn over and it was the wire plug that connects to the shifter. The start circuit needs to have the car in neutral or park to turn over or in a manual tranny car the clutch depressed.

thanks for the info,...now the problem is just that the car runs okay, (not so great).....but when it gets hot, it runs like crap and the rpms' drop to like 3-400 rpms and it wants to stall after hot in gear.
