compatible engines for 90RS???
ok, i've owned my camaro for around 2 years now and so far the only mods i've done to it is a system, and some flowmasters. i'm wanting to do some things engine wise now (because 170HP is pretty weak) i don't wanna kill my mileage too bad cause i drive a lot....the current engine is the stock 305, and im wondering what engines can u swap out with the least modification....or if it would just be better to mod my current engine?it has 180,000 miles on it and still runs fine. I have like 2 or 3 350s laying around in some retired farm trucks, but i dont know what shape they're in. So basically id like a lil more HP (enough to race around in town and what not) but not kill the mileage (16-20mpg). Is this impossible to have, or is it actually something u can do??thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post.

the best would be a TPI 350 from an Iroc and such ..or you can
do a compression test on one of those 350's, if good, use it, if not, they're probably 4 bolt 010 blocks .. would be worth the rebuild.
swap the top end with late model heads, intake .

me and my step dad were about to do all the maintenance stuff on it here pretty soon (he's a camaro guy/freetime mechanic). What about just fixing up my engine while doing all this?it seems to be the most cost effective way. i don't think i wanna do anything major, maybe just replacing all the maintenance stuff, then some good bolt ons. what do you recommend for some good bolt ons that don't kill mileage??

Take some time to do some reading in the TBI forum. Read the stuck threads at the top of the page. Swapping motors is easy but getting one to run right isn't always. Swapping for a full 350 TPI is okay but you can keep TBI and achieve the same (sometimes better) with far less money. Your car does however have many weak links that need to be addressed before you swap motors. Your will need a full exhaust from headers back along with a high flow fuel pump. A new set of gears and some suspension stuff wouldn't be a bad idea either seeing how you will really want them once you start making more power. When swaping motors the key is to build and prep the car before the motor goes in. It is esencially the last mod until you have everything up to snuff to support it.
