head and block info required

Need some info about the following:

Heads - 305cid Vortex - casting# 12552520
All I know is that they were in production from '97 and up, used on trucks. My date code is DO16 - late '96 build??
Need to know camber size, and stock int/exh valve size.
Are they good to use with a 350cid? - I need emmission legal compatability...

Block
GM 350cid casting #14093638 - date code L208, - Does this block have provisions for both roller and hyd - valve train assemblies, and I have heard that the block came with both 2 and 4bolt mains. Beisdes opening up the oil pan, and pulling the intake manifold, is there any other way to determine what is inside?
-TIA

1 piece RMS block, was cast for roller lifters, but didn't necessarily have the finishing work done to take them. Whether it's 2 bolt or 4 bolt main makes no difference to you.

Vortec heads are not technically legal, at least not in the US. They were never put on passenger cars by the factory, and lack the exhaust cross-over passages needed for EGR function. You can plumb exhaust up to the intake manifold, but you're on your own when the inspector starts the visual.

They have 58cc chambers, would work on a 350 if dished pistons were used.

That's the same block casting I have. It started life as a ZZ3 crate engine. It has roller lifters and 4 bolt mains. The only way you'll know whether yours does is to pull the intake (or at least the distributor) and pan.

Thanks for the info guys,
Forgive my ignorance - but wern't vortex heads first developed for the v6 4.3 back in '86 I think it was?? (not sure).
Does anyone know what the factory valve sizes were? intake/exhaust.
TIA

For V8's, mid-90's and only for trucks.

350 Vortec heads had 1.94/1.50" valves. 305 Vortec heads had 1.84/1.50" valves.
