84 Trans Am 305 to 350 Timing Question
Hey guys,
I just purchased a GM Goodwrench 350 from Summit Racing. The engine came with 2 timing pointers, but no instructions on where to mount them. I know that they bolt on to the timing cover, I'm just not sure where. My stock 305 had the pointer tack welded on to the center of the timing cover. How do I determine where on the timing cover to bolt the new ones on to? I've taken some pics of everything located here: http://www.joehuth.8m.com/photo.html
Thanks!
Joe

Which pointer you use is dependant upon which damper you put on. If you reuse your old damper, neither one will work because those are "2 o'clock" pointers - one for an 8" damper, one for a 6-3/4" damper.
