84 T/A: Stock Cover for Flexplate Need Swapped?
My new 350 in my 84 T/A also has a bigger flywheel - 168 tooth as opposed to the stock 153 tooth. There's a cover that bolts up underneath the car to protect the flywheel. It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks like the stock one might not have enough clearance inside with the bigger flywheel. My question is: Has anyone put a 168 flywheel on their T/A and were you able to use the stock cover? If not, where do you buy a replacement one?
Thanks,
Joe

Is there any reason why you didn't use the original flywheel? I know these things are quite interchangeble. I just put the flywheel off my 87 IROC onto a 92 corvette engine. The original cover went back on fine....

I dont know if it is the "right" thing to do, but I have a 95 LT1 and I dont even have a cover on it. Its been like that for a while with no problems. Its pretty thin and probably wont "protect" much anyway. Just be cautious when driving on anything but a paved surface.
