Hey any one heard of powdercoating their airgap intakes? Was worried about heat, my guy says he bakes at a higher temp than operating temp, will it last?

 

It should hold up pretty well I think. The intake manifold doesn't get anywhere near as hot when the engine is running as it will get being baked. The powdercoating process bakes the parts at something like 500*F, which is much hotter than it will ever get from engine heat alone.

 

Use an intake manifold gasket that will block off the exhaust crossover. Even though the Air Gap doesn't have the passages, having the flange exposed to the port could still allow excessive heat to the coating.
