3rd gen serpentine on early SBC

i'm wanting to swap out my 305 tbi in my 90 RS for a warmed up 350 w/ Vortec heads but, i still want to use the 'maro's serpentine belt set-up. can i run a reverse rotation water pump on my early block and Vortec heads?

will i have any cooling problems? and why do the LT-1 heads have to be modified to run on an early-style block? aren't they reverse flow heads?

Your current water pump is reverse rotation, but the engine flow is the standard Gen I radiator-pump-block-heads-radiator.

LT1 is reverse flow, meaning the flow goes radiator-pump-heads-block-radiator. There are passage differences between the Gen I blocks & heads and Gen II blocks and heads.

Vortec engines/heads are Gen I style.

The problem i ran into when putting serpentine on my 86 iroc was the alternator. MY car had the old two wire plug and the only alternator that would go on the serpentine setup was one that needed the newer bigger plug with more wires so i didnt put on the setup. Hopefully there might be an easy way to get around this so i can get the v belt crap off my car.
