Headers for LT1 3rd gen?
Im currently preparing for the swap and was wondering which headers to go with. Mind you I must stay emissions legal. I like a dry, raspy sound, so, I dont know, help me out. What are my optins? What do you have and how does it sound/perform?

They have to be for a third gen. Headers for an LT1 won't work, I found out the hard way by having to order new ones. I just got my hew headers today and hope to have mine running by next week. I used hedman 82-92 camaro 1 5/8 inch ceramic coated headers. They are made specifically to clear angle plug heads, and have D shaped exhaust ports.
i know SLP 1 3/4" shortie headers for 82-92 f-bodies come available with the emissions stuff. Dont know about the other brands. SLP's have the largest primarys but are also expensive.
Best performance. Long tube headers will give you the best performance but also give you little ground clearance. If you're lowering your car, dont even think about long tubes. Exhaust options would be mufflex 4 inch cat-back? exhaust.
If you want raspy sound go with a flowmaster cat-back 3"? exhaust. I think you can get these at summitracing.com.
I went with 82-92 shortie hooker headers and am going to get 3" hooker cat-back exhaust and magnaflow 3" cat next week. 82-92 Hooker cat-back exhaust supposidly has a mellow muscle car sound to it and it quiet until full throttle.
check out summitracing.com. They give some details on parts on their website.
