stock gauges?

ok i wasnt sure if they would function properly. Is the speedo mechanical also? any other things i should know baout this?

I believe the '88 SC would be mechanical, but I wouldn't swear by that. Best bet is to look at the transmission output housing and see if it has a mechanical cable coming out of it, or a transducer with wires. Even if it is electrical, the speedo is separate from the engine computer.

i cant say for all third gen's. but on my 85 camaro, all gauges are independant of the computer and worked with new sending units on the new motor.
