At first I was thinking it was only gonna cost me around $2500-$3000, but I just finshed mine and I haven't added all the receipts up but I know I have over $4000 in it now.

It is possible to keep the 700R4 behind it but really if you look around you can find a decent combo of the engine with the 4L60E transmission for under 2k...

Assuming you have all the parts and such, expect another 2k to have the engine properly installed....I was thinking of going this route but after looking at the numbers and such I was gonna be spending alot mroe than I had wanted to...

For the same price I can build my engine and possibly make it better.

I have about 3500 in mine with the 6-speed, did all the wiring myself which is what saved a ton.

I also have that same question, (700r4) but if going with the 4l60 is a better option then what interior modification will be needed. new center consold? and tranny cross member?

I had to swap from my factory 700R4 cable to the new model 4L60E cable out of the parts car. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow to show why. I also had to modify the shifter where the cable hooks up. The new model cable was too big to fit over the factry rivet and stay on so I just drilled it out and put a nut and bolt through it to hold it in place. I have a little work I need to do to the car tomorrow and I'll see if I can get some pics.
