Cadillac engine

A guy in my area has a late 60's 429 caddy engine for sale for $350. I assume this would be considered a big block. Parts may be hard to come by but I think it would be fun to try and make it work in a 3rd gen. What do you all think?

There is no big/small block classification on caddy engines. They all have the same bore spacing. The 429 is a very small displacement caddy engine. For what it's worth, you'd be better off dropping in a SBC or finding a BBC. If you wanted to be different then finding a 472 or 500 caddy engine would be more worth it. There are lots of aftermarket parts available but they're expensive and harder to find.
