Car: 1985 Z-28 2003 chevy Silverado Z71
Engine: was 305 LG4 now 355 HO
Transmission: TH700r4
Axle/Gears: posi 373
rebulid 305 or swap 355
I have a 1985 Z-28 with a LG4 305 runs good 168,000 miles on it burns alittle oil nothing major should i rebuild it maybe with a new cam headers? I got a guy with a bulit 355 with 3,800 miles on it sell for 1,000 bucks what do u guys think?

Have you replaced the valve seals? If not, that's probably where your oil consumption is coming from. Could also be intake manifold gaskets.
If you rebuild the 305, I wouldn't recommend going beyond standard size rings & bearings. If you have to do any machine work to the block or crank, you might as well go with the 350.
