What you've heard is pretty much true, although all you need for the computer is the PROM (aka "chip").
22 lb/hr injectors are what the factory put in 350 TPI cars.
Something along the line of a Comp XE262 would be about all the cam you'd want to put in a stock TPI engine. Is your 350 a roller lifter block?

Shouldn't be any problem at all. 350's were offered in '87, and they looked exactly like and were equiped exactly like LB9 305's. If you stay with center bolt valve covers there shouldn't be anything that tips them off. Even if they were tipped off, the engine is one that is allowable.
The "final touch" would be to put L98 stickers under the hood. However, since your VIN will say it was an LB9, that might earn you a trip to the Motor Change ref.

Sorry for jumping in on your thread, but I'm doing the same to a 91 GTA. 91 305 TPI sd to a complete 91 350 TPI sd out of a 91 Z. Besides the injectors, prom and the knock sensor is there anything else I need to change? I'm installing headers and exhaust,SLP runners, AFPR and new injectors. I would like to get the HP up to 300. Any suggestions on a cam and inj. size or anything else? Is the stock FPR the same on 305s and 350s? Thx.

well i found a L98 vetter motor and 700r4 trans on ebay and WON it for $699.00 and since its local i can go get it.
here is the description of the auction.
1985 Corvette L98 engine and trans 700r4, this is a early iron head motor 235hp, runs excellent with just over 100k orig miles. This set up will include complete brackets and accessories plus ecm with engine harness. Unit was well kept and would make a great project donor or replacement, item can be picked up or shipped by carrier. Thanks for looking

so maybe within a month or 2 itll be in there.
possible 305tpi/700r4 with about 135k miles for sale. or part out soon.

I think you should wait and replace them at a later time.
Why not put that 700r4 in the RS?
