search for TPI to carb swap and there should be 50 threads. ditch all the computer harness, ECU, intake, dizzy, etc and sell on ebay for maximum wallet appreciation.

actually guys, the search function is rather a POS right now, it'll pull up any thread with any of the items you search for, in no order or relavance or anything...
auto trans or manual?
you should be able to bolt up the 350 carb to your 305 tranny, pull the bulb on your check engine light, since you'll be ditching the computer completely. Just like any other motor swap.

It depends on the details. I don't know what a "racecar 350" is. In order to have a clue whether you're going to have clearance problems, we'd need to know what is on the engine. There are no external dimensional differences between the 305 & 350 longblocks, but what you bolt on (intake manifold, valve covers, oil pan, water pump, etc.) can have a profound effect on getting it to fit inside the engine compartment.

Dont take this the wrong way or anything but how old are you? and do you talk the way you type?
If all you got is a block and heads you have some serious work ahead of you. but since you have a 305 already in the car all your accessories will bolt right up along with your 700R4 but I wouldnt recomend using that if you plan on putting down decent HP. what do you plan on using the car for? IMO a T56 would be a much better way to go. that has to be the best part I added to my car! and with gas the way it is the 6th gear helps me get close to 25 mpg!

im 17 an yea i pretty much tlk that way i wanna use it for the road but the track as well i'd could rele give a care less bout gas i mean i do but i dont if u follow me on that but im tryin to build a show car out of it too so yea
It could work?
ya a 350 fits great depending on weather or not u use a high rise/butterfly intake or what type of exhaust headers u decide on. but the 700R4 is known for going out so I would either rebuild the 700R4 or pick up a 350turbo tranny
my 350 fit and i talked to alot of chevy guys and they all said the same thing what trans then a pause and a little laughter
and my def of a racecar 350 is a clean 350 w/crome valve covers, 4bolt mains, tubular mandral bend headers, and two 4bl hollys sittin on top of a weind screw supercharger. But thats just my perfect engine/also very expensive parts.
