I want anything bigger than my crappy 305 although everywhere I've checked they seem to be multi-thousand dollar engines. I just want a block and I'll use my existing parts to make one. I want to pay somewhere under 500 for a fully dressed not including carb or 250 for a motor thats not dressed but still has basics like pistons crank etc. Does anyone have any good websites or locations in canada that I can look into?

I recently discovered a chevy 454, several 305/350s, and a claimed 640? in the back of the STL autotrader magazine
Pick'n'Pull locations will let you pull your own motor from their lot, and charge arourd $170 complete (varies by location)
