305 tbi to 350 carb
IS there a way i can do the wiring myself or am i better off just taking it somewhere to do the wiring. It was a tbi car and if i am informed correctly I will only need a few of the numerous wires to have all my gauges working and all the power items under the hood.
Any info on this would be great. I have done a search but i am looking for a more informative answer. What will be left in the harness once the carbed engine will be in place of the tbi?
Are there any shops that could preform the wiring harness remove task in the chicago/indiana area?

I am pretty sure that the engine harness will come off the car, and everything else will already be there f the guages. I believe the tach is driven off the cable from the speedo. The other guages are driven off of sensors that can/are mounted on any vehicle. Also, if I am mistaken on any of this, feel free to correct me. (it wouldn't be the first time.)

The tach is driven from a wire from the coil.
Some models have a vehicle speed sensor on the transmission which drives the speedometer via a separate module under the dash. It is unaffected by disconnecting the ECM wiring.
You will need wires that go to the alternator, temperature gage sender (in the driver's side head), power to the distributor/coil, tach wire from the coil, oil pressure gage sender (and fuel pump switch, if you use the in-tank electric pump), and radiator fan switch (in the passenger side head). You will most likely need a 12v switched power source wire to run an electric choke on the carb.
