LS1 vs. LT1
ok..i'm sure someone else already posted something like this...but not only am i lazy...i thought maybe i have some unique questions. for instance my friend and i have been arguing about the differences between the two. i favor the LS 1...more power and more capable of producing even more, right? the main argument between him and i is supercharging and turboing. i say LS1 with a vortech s-trim would be the way to go. he says the LS1 is better suited to a twin turbo than a supercharger and vice versa on the LT1. i always thought it was the other way around. i plan on an LS1 conversion on thirdgen. he's doing opposite....running the LT1 in his. my questions then are along the lines of the turbo/supercharge issue.....what are your opinions on the subject, and who do you think would be better off?
Stock for stock, LS1 is quicker most of the time. I have seen one freak stock LT1 that would beat most LS1's.
Turbo is better than supercharging in any case, cheaper too - i think but have really no idea.
Either one that you throw enough money at, will be fast and have plenty of potential. Both awesome engines. LS1 is newer technology and seems to be more expensive at this point. Lt1 is plenty capable but by the time they get modified that much, not really a LT1 anymore(SB2.2 conversion).

Really twin turbo is always gonna be better. You got less leech directly on the engines horsepower and generate massive power. Look at this chart the power is unreal.

The LS1 is a better motor design but by the time you are running twin turbos there is nothing stock about that motor anyway.Either way your going to need a stronger bottemend to handle all that power.I saw a LS1 with a single turbo run 650hp as a daily driver so I can only imagine what twin turbos would do.

The LS1 has a better head design so that is where its power advantage comes from. However it will cost more to rebuild or especially stroke so that power comes at a price. It comes down to personal preference. It is not a good idea to add forced induction to these motors without going to forged pistons. I think the LS1 might be a little better in this regard since I haven't heard as many of them dying as LT1's.

Whats the cheapest bolt on turbo kit they make. I havent seen many kits for small block chevy that have the manifolds, turbos, and all the hardware.
