Will this tear up my chassis?
Im back and forth between either putting in a 383 or going to a bbc, most likely a 454 crate motor. My only problem is with body twist. I've heard horror stories about putting a bbc in a unibody car then having the body twist all up. Its the last thing I want after dumping $3000 into putting new floors in. I mean I have a set of Spohn SFC's, but will they be enough to handle a centrifugally blown 454?

BB's have been done successfully in third gens, i dunno about blown BB's but i don't see anything wrong with a stroker motor, personally i would do the stroker.

Subframe connectors are good enough chassis support for the street. Beyond that you will want to put money into suspension so you can control the car. A supercharged big block is going to put you on the ragged edge of control or even out of the control. You will need a stout suspension to drive it safely. In my opinion, once you hit the 500 Hp mark you should have a roll cage just for safety. It's too easy to get sideways and out of control. You might really be glad you have the protection someday.

Until he gets in an accident and kills himself by hitting his head on the roll cage. Roll cages aren't for the street. I guess it really depends on what he plans on doing with the car, but I'd probably look into reinforcing parts of the frame to make sure it's all sturdy- but unless you have slicks you'll just be spinning the tires.

Since I have a sunroof, does that really affect how rigid the chassis is? I can't imagine it would be as bad as t tops or a convertible.
